Evidence and laboratory
Casings, fingerprints, sampling, laboratory, camera and investigations: how everything fits together.
#Overview
Crime scene → traces on the ground (casings, fingerprints…)
Person → samples (DNA, fingerprints, gunshot residue)
↓ pick-up / seal
Evidence locker → storage (chain of custody)
↓
Laboratory → analyses (results in /enquete)
↓
Investigation tablet → cases, people, vehicles, evidence, notes, links#Evidence system
| Framework | Evidence source |
|---|---|
| Vision | The core's evidence (evidence* tables); internal tables stay empty |
| Others | Internal tables tc_forensic_evidence (traces) and tc_forensic_custody (chain of custody) |
Config.Evidence.backend: auto (default), core or internal. In internal mode, a trace expires according to Config.Evidence.expireHours.
Blood, powder, fragments and impact types are added through the DropBlood and CreateEvidence exports (see Exports).
#Casings
One casing per bullet fired, whoever fires (player, on-duty police, ped) and wherever. It appears as a small prop, visible with a light. The casing bag stores them (30 slots).
#Fingerprints
- Getting into a vehicle leaves a print on the door (
Config.Prints.vehicles). - Opening / closing an
ox_doorlockdoor also leaves one (Config.Prints.doors). - With gloves, no print.
- Vehicle scan:
Config.Prints.vehicleScanRange.
#Laboratory
Analyses are long (Config.Lab.durations) and results appear in /enquete.
| Analysis | Default duration |
|---|---|
| DNA | 240 s |
| Fingerprints | 180 s |
| Ballistics (casings, powder, impacts) | 180 s |
| Paint | 120 s |
| Gunshot residue | 90 s |
Config.Lab.atLab defines those that can only start at a Laboratory point (ballistics by default). Place points with /forensicgestion. An analysed DNA / fingerprint trace always gives the identity (first and last name) with no prior sampling of the person.
#Camera
The camera item opens a viewfinder; the photo is stored in the database (tc_forensic_photos) and filed in folders (dossier_photo, 40 photos max per folder). Bullet trajectories in the viewfinder are visible to on-duty police (traceRange, Vision only).
The camera requires screenshot-basic. Without it, the item cannot take photos.
#Investigation tablet
/enquete: cases (category, status, priority, place), people (roles: suspect, witness, victim…), vehicles (plates), attached evidence, notes, and a link board between elements. Cases can be looked up by person or by plate.
#Evidence locker
A locker reserved for police jobs: Config.EvidenceLockers (outside Vision) or /gestion (Vision).
#Aimed menu on people and vehicles
- Vision: the core's menu (unchanged).
- ESX / QBCore / Qbox:
ox_target/qb-targetif present. Otherwise, the fallback commands (/adn,/empreintes,/gsr,/empreintesvehicule).
